If you want a new carrier but don't already have one, this guy installed is gears with the stock carrier on 3.21's and is trying to sell the carrier he purchased and didn't use for cheap:

If you MUST buy one, I'll make you a killer deal.

yes you can run 5.13s , and yes you can keep the 3.21 carrier if you run thick gears!

I'm on the fence between 5.13's and 4.88's when I get my new front d44. I'm leaning towards the 5.13's and sacrificing the gas mileage because i have the 2.72 t-case ratio with an automatic trans, so to get a decent crawl ratio I'm gonna either need 4.88's and a new t-case or keep the t-case I have with 5.13's. Also, I don't typically drive >65 mph during my daily commute, so the higher rpms aren't a real problem for me. Just my .02.
Go with the 5.13's, especially with an auto. I did it with a 6 speed and have no regrets.

You guys realize that the difference between 5.13's and 4.88's behind an auto is only like 115 RPM at 70 MPH, right?

You can keep the rear not the front. The Front gears are not thick
