Default CAI pipe

CAI systems usually use one of these three different materials for the pipe (Metal tube, plastic or rubber)

I know the metal ones are not the best choice due to heat issues, but whats the difference between rubber & plastic? Which one of them transfers less heat & has more heat resistance?
