I try not to worry to much about keeping the spare safe (I just have standard wheel locks). I figure someone taking the spare is better than someone taking the Jeep.

I think my total cost for these wheel locks I described with two keys was only about $35. I think it was money well-spent.

I used a heavy duty bike lock to keep mine safe, no problems yet
