Busted Shock - Temporary Fix Question

Busted Shock - Temporary Fix Question
Yesterday I busted the OEM Front-Right shock with Teraflex BB 2 1/2" Shock Extension. I live in Italy and have found an OEM shock, but don't have the extension, since it broke also. Would I be okay taking off the shock extension and running two OEM shocks with a 2 1/2" lift as a daily driver until the new Rubicon Express shocks I've ordered arrive???
Also, I think it went out of alignment... my Traction control light keeps going off as well as the ESP BAS light. I hope putting the OEM shocks and getting it aligned will fix this.

mi dispiace per quanto ti è successo !!! ma come hai fatto??
secondo me puoi guidare, solo su strada, senza adattatori.
in ogni caso, provare non ti costa niente e non credo dovresti avere problemi di sorta se non che l'estensione della sospensione sarebbe più corta di 2.5" rispetto all'assetto originale perchè limitata dalla corsa dell'ammortizzatore.
ciao

I think that Paolo is correct that you would be find driving on the road. Just don't get into any flex situations where you would need the longer shock travel.

Thanks for the shock advice... now for the rest (ESP, Traction control)... Upon further inspection... here's what I found.
Dirvers side - Undamaged
A look at the busted shock
And here's where there's a big problem
My thoughts are that a realignment will keep the ESP/Traction Control for going haywire... But how do I fix this????????????
Help!!!!!

Okay... I've mounted a shock to solve the shock problem... any suggestions on the control arm bracket??? Any aftermarket manufacturers that make the bracket that can be welded onto the axle????

I'll have to send wayoflife an e-mail about it. I found another thread discussing this problem, and they suggested heating the metal and bending them back into place, then welding support skid plates onto the bracket... like Rancho control arm bracket skids or off-road evolution control arm bracket skid plates. I've not found any replacement weld on control arm brackets as of yet.

the control arm mount is bent but it looks like you might still be able to work it back into shape. pull off your control arm and then, with a BIG crescent wrench (biggest possible is better as it will give you leverage), open it just wide enough for you to slip it over on of the ears and then pry it back over. repeat on the other ear and try to get them back as close to stock as possible. no guarantees but i have been able to pull mounts looking similar to this back into shape and you might be able to as well.

Thanks for the advice... I ended up taking it to a local shop with a guy that works a lot of metal for off-roaders... he superheated it and bent it back into shape... the next step is to re-enforce it.
Now that corrected the axle shift. The next thing is the steering wheel. When I'm driving perfectly straight, the steering wheel is about55 degrees to the left.
When I straighten the steering wheel, of course I vear off to the right.
Also if I turn the wheel all the way to the right... it feels like it's binding or something. The ESP light remains on... and the Traction control light stays on after startup. I'm guessing that I need to hook it up to the computer to reset these sensors???
As far as the steering wheel... will recentering it correct the binding??? Should I take it to a shop or adjust it myself???
