Default Bushwacker flares with original rims question

Hello,

If I put bushwacker flares on my JK with the original rims and 37" tires, I believe the tires will stay inside the flares, but how much? I don't like the looks when the flares hang over.

I'm ready to order new dynatrac axles and want to know how much inches to add to the stock axle width. Click image for larger version

Well...if the fenders stick out too far, you can always throw some wheel spacers in there to widen the stance.

Here is mine with rubi rims, 265/70/17 BFG AT's and 1.5" spacers.. The flares clearly overlap the tires, but it doesn't look all that bad.. When I get new rims with less backspacing, and 35's it will be perfect IMO.

I'm not a big fan of wheelspacers. And at this point I'm able to choose the width, because I'm ordering new axles. Better to choose acorrect axle width now, than adjusting it with spacers later.

You have the standard rims and 1,5" spacers on each side, so 3" on the axle width? And still the tires are kept within the flares?

Do you already now how much backspacing you'll need to keep the rims within the flares?

The flares stick out noticeably farther than the stock flares did. My stock rims have 6.5" bs so with the spacers it makes them equivalent to rims with 5" bs. I'm eventually getting 16 x 8's with 4.75" bs and 35's, so that should help make it look more proportionate. FYI these flares are HUGE. Without spacers or rims with low enough bs do not expect your wheels to surpass the flares. It's an acquired taste, but I like it and am glad I went with the pockets. Makes my JK look different than every other one on the St, and I get nothing by compliments.

Over here the tires need to be covered or else I won't make inspection.
