Default Bumper and winch for a grand???

I dont even have my 12 Rubicon yet and I already hate the front bumper and if I am going to replace it I may as well get a winch at the same time. Not to mention a winch will be very comforting as I learn to wheel.

So any input on how to accomplish this for around $1000?
A few guidelines:
-D ring mounts very desirable
-Design or skid that protects the e-disco big plus
-Would like to use my factory fog lights (why not)
-Dont care about hoops

Ive scoured this site and reviewed the Bumper Review thread. I am leaning toward the LOD Mid. I like how the winch is slightly recessed. It looks great, uses the lights, has Ds and I can save shipping by picking it up (they are about an hour from me).

Also leaning toward the Warn M8000 or VR8000. With the $80 rebate its close to the 1k budget and Warn seems to be the one everyone compares to.

What else should I consider?

What the heck is the difference between the M and VR models of Warn?
Will I regreat not going to a 9k winch?

I dont want to reopen the endless winch brand debate!!! I just want something I can count on.

Thanks for any input!

Figures, I find the VR vs M info right after I post.

Copied from a reply by a "warn" person on another site. I have NOT verified this anywhere but nothing is ever wrong on the internet right???

The differences are:

• Motor (different motor than M8000, different performance)
• Solenoids (vs. contactor on M-series, others)
• Different remote (we've got a new remote on the M-series)
• Finish (flat black vs. argent gray on the M-series)

These parts are less expensive for us, and thus, less expensive for the consumer.

Also, if you compare the performance data, you'll see the M8000 is faster than the VR8000, which is an effect of the different motor.

No load line speed
M8000= 29 ft/min
VR8000= 42 ft/min

8000 lb. line speed
M8000= 8.01 ft/min
VR8000= 4.8 ft/mim

I would go with a 9k if you can afford it.

I just got a 2011 JK recently and was so excited to starting working on it, i didn't do much research and just went on an ordering spree.

Wish i had got a 9k instead of the 8k i'm stuck with now.

Default other bumpers?

Any other bumper suggestions?

I just ordered the M8000 from Northridge.

I just want to make darn sure I don't find "the perfect bumper" after I order the LOD...

I bought the Bestop stubby bumper with bar, and put the 10,500lb Recon winch on it, all together was less than $1000..
