To be honest ill prolly never go to moab I would love to though and the closest thing to rock crawling I would do is drive down the gravel road I live on. The jeep is not my daily driver though so if I was to blow the d30 it would just be down for a little while until I could save for a prorock 44.

sound like you made your mind up! If i were you i would gusset and sleeve the axle go with gears and a locker then if you break a shaft then go with chromo's. I think you would be happy with that with 35s or 37s.

u wont know the auto locker is there until u turn sharp into a parking spot, itll rachet and clunk abit. Driveshaft discoed on long trips, no prob, I've been to Moab and back twice from Louisiana. Also a few other shorter 8-10 hr trips.
You can do difficult rated trails and just baby it and be fine, I do carry spare axle shafts every off-road trip though.

i like selectables if you can afford it because you dont have manual hubs. there are a few different kinds ARB is probably the most popular but they make cable and electronic lockers also

Nope, but I have seen several on 35's that have shattered here in town. There is even a thread from a guy on stock 32's that shattered his by driving up on a curb at about 20mph. WOL has a big thread about the housing weakness that would be a good read if you can find it, and one guy in that thread even broke his housing that had sleeves installed.

Percentage wise, it isn't a large number of people having these issues. Just something to take into account in a 'fully built 30' vs 'PR44' decision.

I like arb myself but there high. I would really like a locker in the front that's not locked all the time as well.
