Default Budget Boost

I just purchased a brand new 08 JK 4DR unlimeted X. I am going to buy a Budget Boost in the next few days. Any reccomendations on which brand to go with? I am assuming I need new shocks with the lift. Correct?

Moved to modified.

Welcome to the forum

Some lifts come with new shocks, some with shock extensions. There are alot of threads in here on this subject. IMO if you are going with a simple spacer lift, they are all very much alike, the options of shocks/extenders etc. is what sets them apart. I have a basic 2" BB on mine, with shocks & it serves me well with my 33's, but 35's would fit easily (assuming properly backspaced wheels)

TeraFlex has 3 different BB kits and 3 different 2.5" coil kits. You'll find that TeraFlex kits are more complete than any other brand out there. Take a look at them in our 2009 catalog. Any questions, give me a call!

can you explain the main differences (like in depth) of the versions of each kit...

I too have been trying to really decide what version I need. I am 99% sure I wana go with TF.

the bottom line is to make as little changes as possiable and get 35's under her with no rub (or only rub at superflex)

I like the idea of the coil kit because it will get rid of rake (right?)

but I like the idea of being able to do it myself with a friend...

Also I am not going to be wheeling it like crazy... but I am going to start wheeling it alot more... not rock crawling or anything extreme but I do want it to be worthy of some pretty good mudd and stuff

Also I am scared of driveshaft issues with anything more then a 2.5'' lift...

and I might do a 1'' body lift also.

I went with the RC 2.5" coil lift with 2.2 shocks. I could not be happier. I love the way it rides and it was very easy to install. I did it one afternoon in a few hours with my 11 year old son. It was inexpensive, leveled out the front and I needed no further modifications to anything. I fit 35's with no problem.

Hope this helps.

I don't mean to burst the TF bubble but I went with a Rough Country 2.5" BB and 1.25" body lift. The 2.5" BB comes with shock extenders so factory shocks can be used. The cost is much less, but like stated earlier not as complete. I was able to get 35's on no problem. Just my opinion. Good luck.

i also had a similar question. my goal is the 2.5" BB with shock adapters. i was planning on getting my hand on the rubi shocks and springs. also wanted to run the stock rubi 17's, with goodyear's 34" mtr's, but now i have to plan on getting an adjustable trackbar in the front.

i wont be doing any crazy flexing, so the rubbing wont be an issue, just some trails here and there, with mud too.

current shopping list is -
TF 2.5" BB, with shock adapters
JKS Front Adjustable Trackbar
Wheel spacers (what size?)
34" Goodyear MTR
17" Rubi Rims
Rubicon Shocks and Springs

how does that look? any suggestions if i should get something else?
