Default Broken visor help

My visor was swinging like a bar room door this morning. I couldn't hold it up while driving and pulled the son of a gun off of the metal rod. I figured I'd take it off. Got it off but....I want to take the metal rod off and put plastic piece back up. The rectangular piece that the rod is secured to holds up the plastic shroud above the windshield. I took the not off but the metal rod will not come out. Any ideas.

I broke that in my old Sahara. Breaking out is the only way. I thought it just "popped" out of the socket.....nope, found out from the dealer that their not supposed to come out....if it's out its broken....

I may take u up on this. Let me play with this mirror tomorrow. If its not too much trouble could you post a couple of pic. Are they for the black/charcoal interior? Thanks again.
