Default Broken Drive Line Now What

DRIVELINE HELP, My nephew just called to ask me to help him get his JK home from Moab with a broken rear Driveline. Can you remove the Rear driveshaft and drive it in 4hi to get it home? Any special tools I should have. My JK has total custom shafts so none of the components are the same.
I know somebody has been there done that.
Thanks

hey captscotty,
that sucks I have been in the same situation before years ago in my YJ broken rear driveline sunday night needing to get home from moab in a snow storm
what I did was took the rear driveline off and drove it home in 4 hi but very slowly it made it alright but it took 6 hours instead of 3 hours
wish I could be more help but I am stuck at mccarren airport waiting for my flight home (it's been delayed for three hours)

Thanks Bonedigger, It is a 2 dr. and out on the highway. snow coming in tonight. we have set up for a trailer but would rather drive it home in front drive. We will not have braking on the trailer with my dually. Could be a long day , It may get towed tonight in the snow. Is the output shaft on the JK flanged so we can remove the DS. and run without?
mine has been upgraded so I cant remember what it had. Good luck getting home. thanks.

Yes, you can run without a rear driveshaft. No issues.

I saw a post recently, someone giving away a free rear driveshaft. Check the free stuff area.
