I guess I'll quit trying to build a better wheel and just get fuel line and hook it up that way.

Why not just put some one way valves on the end of the current breather tubes and leave it at that? If fluids needs to upchuck a bit, it can, but nothing can flow backwards, especially mud and water.
Am I missing something?

Why not just run them to the air box and call it a day? River Raider Offroad has a kit that gives you everything you need for about $60. It took me about 2 hours to install (including several long beer breaks).

I saw that kit, home depot has the same parts as that kit for 1/3 the cost and I don't have to wait, though I don't mind throwing river raiders money, they make great products.

By the time you list out the parts you need, measure to get an idea of the hose lengths and then drive to Home Depot and NAPA to buy the parts you've spent 2 to 3 hours of your time. I don't even count the gas or a possible oversight on parts, requiring you to make another trip.

Saving that time is worth the extra $40. Plus, waiting in line in Miami in February is an experience you don't want. It's Snowbird season here.
