Could you post some pictures of the rust on bumper and the frame closed ends?

Here you go, rust on prerunner and the sides closed on cross member where skid plate should be mounted.

Still working with RR on a resolution but have to say they are very responsive.

Cool RR rust on bumper

Nice pictures..... Yes, this would be a big dissapointment. Let us know how it unfolds. Like the looks of RR modular but may have to consider anorther system because of this problem.

any update on this? I am ready to buy and XHD is in the closer selection if there are no issues with rust.

Anyone else have an issue like this with rugged ridge?

No issues here, but I don't have the pre-runner. Just the stubby with the center hoop. Mine has been on about 60 days in the heat, rain and humidity.

This is an old thread but I had the same issue with my skid plate. The passenger side of my 2010 JKU does not ahve a hole to attach the palte to teh cross member, and even if it did, i would not be able to tighten it due to teh cross member being welded closed. ???

Default How about a version for 2010 & 2011 boxed ends.

I have a RR XHD rear bumper w/ tire carrier installed. UPS freight just delivered a RR XHD winch mount front bumper, RRC Pre-runner XHD add-on bar, and a set of RRC Side Armor rails (thanks David at Northridge 4x4). The only reason the front Skid Plate isn't sitting in the garage waiting to be installed is because of this issue. Just did not want to trim as the instructions currently require when facing this issue. Thanks to the forum I was aware of the issue before ordering and double checked my jeep just to be sure.

If it helps mine is a 2010 model year w/ an Oct 2009 production date.

I had the same issue with my 2010 Rubi \ Hanson Skid-Plate. The crossmember would not allow the skid to sit flush to it. I had to trim each end of the crossmember.
