Default Brand New Rugged Ridge Bumper RUST and Skid Plate Install Issue

Received my RR XHD bumper and it has RUST on it out of the box!!! Has anyone else encountered this issue before? Needless to say, I won't be buying RR products again but really like the front bumper. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this w/o just covering the existing rust?

Secondly, the RR Skid Plate does fit the 2010 JK 2dr!!!!!!!!! The instructions are based on a different model (year) which has an open ended frame in the front to allow for installation of the front bolts. My JK has a closed front frame leaving no access to install the nuts.

Overall the products look good but seem worthless when you can't install them or they are already rusting out of the box. Very disappointing.

I got mine and it fit great and had zero rust. Rugged Ridge has good customer service so Im sure they will take care of you. Now Smittybilt on the otherhand would leave you up a stream without a paddle.

Always good to see a manufacturer right on an issue. Would love to hear what the outcome is. I am as happy with my front bumper and skid as the day it all came out of the boxes.

Please post where the Rugged Ridge products are manufactured. Please post how your encounter with their customer service went. Both points are of major consideration for the vast majority of us!

I was not aware of any differences in the JK frame for 2010. Are you sure?

I have some powdercoat chipping around the edges. A little shake is all it takes...

Default Sent Pictures / awaiting response

Some requested an update.... I have emailed the pictures showing the rust and frame for the skid plate mount to RR and am awaiting a response.

Regarding the frame difference..... The front two bolts on the skid plate have to be inserted from the bottom and a nut placed inside the front cross-member of the frame. The instructions show a picture of this cross-member being open ended allowing you to place and tighten the nut. On my 2010 JK (May built) the ends are closed, leaving me no way to reach the bolt and tighten a nut. Additionally, one side (I think the passenger side) does not even have a hole which aligns with the skid plate in the front.
