The shop foreman at my dealer told me that 33's were to
big for the jk brakes. I am running 33's and already
had to replace rear pads(5k miles). maybe they are to
big.

As I mentioned above- I learned years ago that if you stomp the brakes every time you stop (as opposed to slowly slowing down as you approach the stop) you will eat up brake pads, which also results in the discs getting eaten up.

Sorry... Don't mean to lecture ya. If you're running 33's, and had to replace pads at 5k, you're either hitting them too hard or there is something wrong with your calipers. Since the shop guy at the dealership is blaming it on your tires, it might actually be a problem with the calipers and he doesn't want to admit/warranty it.
No prob.
Honestly, I think my premature brake wear is from mud/sand getting
into the pads. It is very sandy and muddy down here. Everytime
you leave the trails here you can hear the sand scraping in the pads/rotors.

Default rubi brakes

does anyone know if it is true that RUBI - Brakes are bigger and better than X or sahara, i think the dealer told me that, or maybe it was the tow package i can not remember.

ive been running 33's since the day i bought my Unlim X 18 months ago 12000 plus miles and the brakes look brand new. many highway, city , and TRAIL miles and no big deal, going to 35's as soon as these wear out and expect no problems there either

You're fine. The brakes are the same across models. Switching from the stock 29" pizza cutters to 35" and the difference was noticable, but I have adapted and they are more than adequate. For reference, the rubis have 32s.

I have had my 37's installed almost from new (had 260 miles on JK when I installed the lift and 37's) and I must be honest. I hate the brakes on my JK.

I have been looking to go with larger rotors and to at least a four piston Cal. but to date have not found anything offered by anyone for the JK.
