Default Brakes?

Do I need to upgrade to bigger brakes when I put on bigger tires or can I keep the stock brake kit?

"Need" is a very open term. Some people find it ok, some people find it to be hell. Put the tires on and get your own feel for it.

We still run the stock brakes with 37's,bigger brakes would help stopping power

I'm thinking about putting 33s or 35s on. And yes it's my daily driver

Unless you plan on some extreme driving, just keep the stock brakes in top shape and understand that your brakes were engineered for smaller tires.

With 33"s you won't see much of a difference, stock Rubicons come with 32"s. If you get heavy 35"s you might notice a longer brake distance. As long as you don't tailgate or have a chuckle-head with an Alaska license plate cut you off the stock brakes are fine. I'm looking forward to the roads icing over so that the twits that think their amateur NASCAR drivers slide off the road and into trees. But I digress.

I upgraded to the Teraflex big brake system with the bored master cylinder. I'm happy with them and I stop better than stock. I haven't tested them, never measured the stopping power of my stock brakes before the upgrade.

I can tell you that it scares the tailgaters behind me.

There are a lot of options out there, like everything else it depends on your budget. You can get better pads, better rotors or go with a complete new system that changes out calipers, rotors, pads and cylinder.

I've been running 35" for almost two years with no issues braking. I do plan on upgrading though. I'll change out pads at first and see how that goes and possibly go with the TF Big Brake Kit.
