It seems that the electronic traction control, and probably Hill Start Assist also, tends to wear the rear brakes more than expected. I often see posts here about the rears actually wearing out first. They should be checked at the very least.
Also look inside the parking brake drums to make sure everything is clean and in good operating condition. The parking brake is notoriously troublesome and a PITA to get at unless you are doing rear brakes at the same time.

It's not difficult at all to do the brakes, if the rears are even close to needing it I would just go ahead and do them all at once and be done with it.
What kind of shape are your rotors in? Obviously they should be turned when doing your brakes but depending on age and warping they may need to be replaced.
