How did you fix the bent metal line? Never worked on brake lines before?

Thanks,

Did the same thing to mine, as have a few others on here. Every single one that I've seen was running the TF 2.5" coil lift and it was always the rear passenger side. Did you recenter the rear axle after the lift? I didn't, and I'm trying to figure out if that may have something to do with it. Mine got pulled down just like yours while wheeling, then caught again later and pushed back up. Never split the line. My brakes still work fine. Take a hacksaw and cut all the extra bolt off the swaybar link stud.

Oddly enough, mine was the driver side rear. My axle is basically pretty well centered with the Teraflex relocation bracket. Not sure how that thing got snagged. Did you just bend yours back and use it?

Thanks,

You could either cut out the bad section and splice in a new one, or replace the whole line all the way back to the master cylinder. Either way you'll have to bleed the brakes. There's a write-up on the process.

Here's another thread on the subject:

Wow, that's the first drivers side line that I remember reading about. I guess I can throw the uncentered rear axle theory out the window. And yes, I am still using that same brake line. I have it zip-tied to the frame rail to keep it out of harms way. I know it's not the smartest move, so I am in no way suggesting this solution to you. Some day when I have some extra cash, I really do plan on getting it fixed correctly.

Thanks for the info. I may try to buy a new line and route it. I will keep you posted.

Thanks,

All I did was cut the bad section of hard line out. Took it to the parts store, they used the old to find a flared piece about the same length. I made sure he gave me all the fittings to hook it up. After I replaced the bad section just had to replenish the lost fluid and bleed the brakes. Honestly, when your holding the fittings and line in your hands it's easy to make sense of it all. All in all maybe cost $25 and I bought a little bender and cutter.

Just noticed (after rotating tires) that I have the EXACT same problem! It looks like you took a pic of my pass. rear in that secon pic. Thanks for posting, as that looks like a perfect fix.

Oh btw - yup, same lift, same problem. teraflex 2.5 coil lift. '07 2 door. Still love the lift, this should have been should have been thought out better though.

It's not too hard to splice the brake line. Just slippery from the brake fluid. You do need a flanging tool(finding that could be that hardest part.).

When I put my lift on my JKU we took a tube bender and relocated the path of the stock hard line and clip that holds the line agains the body.
