Default Brake line relocated????

My rig was at the dealership on tuesday for 30k service and they said it needed rear brake pads and a rear pass brake hose becasue it is rubbing through on the shock. So this evening i started work on the brakes and i found this on the pass side: WHITE is where the hose was rubbing on the shock till i bent the bracket out a little so it wouldn't, ORANGE is showing how the brake line is shaped, the BLUE line shows how the driver side line is. I'm almost positive this is wrong, but want to check. I dont remember it being like that but i also dont remember really looking at it.

Holy Smoke! Looks like your swaylink bolt caught the hardline and bent it down. You need to replace the hardline ASAP!!!!!

It shoulda NEVER left the shop like that!!!!!!!

Also, the rubber hose they suposidly replaced doesn't look very new to me, check it for rub marks. Easy fix to make the rubber line resistant to sliding on the shock would be to get some fuel line, split it down the middle and ziptie a 4in piece or so around the rubber line. You won't have to worry about it rubbing through then.

I noticed my rear lines rubbed my shock after I installed my lift and did something similar to this only I used the black plastic corrugated wire loom instead. Same stuff you see everywhere under your hood, Home Depot, Lowes, Radio Shack all carry it. Haven't had any issues so far.

They didnt replace it. I'm going to do that my self too. Im waiting to for them to show up. Taking it to the dealership tomorrow to see what they can do for me, if anything since its out of warranty. I am probably gonig to end up getting a length of brake line from napa and flaring and bending a new peice for back there cause i'm sure its all one peice from the controller up front.

Wow!!!

Agree with mkjeep..looks like you sway bar pulled that hard line down! I snapped my brake line that way up at Rausch creek. The hard line snapped right in 2 directly in line with my track bar bolt.

Yeap, I had darn near the same thing happen, twice. Second time it split the hard line and I had to limp it home (next to no brakes, buddy close in front of me) Nothing to hard to fix

Got the brake lines done. I think it looks ok. They are on top of the frame out of the way.

That looks much better. The lines are way up and out of the way of that pesky long bolt. Good job.
