I saw these while surfing the net - Body Armor offroad bumpers. Reasonably priced at underr $500 for the fronts, under $400 for the rears, around $350 for the swing arms. They look wicked too. Anyone have any experience with them? Good good to be true, or the real deal?

I have the rear bumper (JK-2394), and the swing-out tire carrier (5293). Very easy self-install, but be careful as the directions are somewhat lacking.

Solid build, powder coat quality is very good.

I also have the front bumper (JK-19531) for my 2010 Rubi. Again, easy install, but there was some drilling I had to do, as Jeep re-designed some of the front braces. Again, be careful as the directions are somewhat lacking. Same comments on quality.

I ordered the front last week (jk-19531) w/ the skid plate (jk-5123)should be here end of June I hope it is as good as it looks . I will show some pics when I install it .

From your profile, your JK is a 2009. The install will be fairly easy, and the skid plate should be easy as well. They changed the front support brackets in 2010, so it would have taken even more work for me to install the skid plate (sawzall / grinding, etc.)

Take your time with the install, and if possible, a second set of hands is very helpful.

The install was very easy on a 09.
Iv got the rear and swing out tire carrier (5294) on mine and was surprised at how easy it was.
Here s a couple of shots of the way it looks on mine.
So far, I like it.
Mine is drilled and tapped for their can carrier which in next on the list of parts.

All the replies have been really helpful! I'm sold on these bumpers - they're amazingly sweet looking for such a reasonable price . Now I just have to dance on the stripper pole for a few nights.....

I have searched for every post related to this swing arm carrier because of the recent troubles I have had with my own. Quick story: I had rust lines down my bumper from a failed bottom bearing - the race shattered. After research and calling Body Armor customer support, I have the new bearings and races installed and it all seems kosher.

The installation instructions are available here and fail to mention that for both sides, the races go in first and the small ends of the bearings point towards each other in an hourglass shape AND proper torque is 100 ft-lbs: http://www.quadratec.com/Assets/Installation/129371.pdf

Also, the bottom shims were a band-aid to a manufacturing error and should not be needed anymore. Finally, the replacement bearings are L68149 & L44649. My carrier was so bad that it was warped out-of-round and I had to use the frozen race / blow-torched carrier method to get it to fit. Rear bumper without carrier. Super light and looks good. Havent tested it yet as its brand new.
