Default On board air

Been thinking and looking around for a onboard air compressor and looking forward to some ideas and setups....I really just will be using it for inflating after trailing and maybe for some camping...I currently have 33's but eventually will get 35's....storage space is an issue for me so I have been thinking of having the compressor in the engine area...I have relocated my muffler so I might be able to put a air tank there if needed? some feedback and pics would be greatly appreciated!

Default LS/HEMI in a JK

If you are running a Chevrolet LS we have a mount, for the LS truck engine.

that looks pretty good and simple...not sure if I read it correctly but the switch is on the compressor so there no need for more switches in the jeep?

You could have a power tank mounted to roll bar or they make mounts that lock on outside of vehicle real simple and can move it around

This is correct. However, this does require you to open the hood to turn the compressor on. I know of a few guys that remote mounted the air hook-up so they didn't need to open the hood. For them they also added a switch that was more accessible.

I drive my Jeep to/from the trail. I kinda like checking under the hood anyway to give everything a once-over. I have found small branches and mud clumps that I removed before the drive home.

All of this said, I later moved my compressor the the rear floor storage area. (I'll grab a pic when I get up the nerve to go out in the cold and take one)

I have this as well and have been happy with it. I also liked the idea of not having to run switches, just doesn't seem necessary to me. Opening the hood is no big deal and I actually think a good idea to let some cool air in there. Simple and works great so far.

Thats the setup I'm running, air coupler is out on the bumper and added a switch on the dash for use on the trail, once I'm aired up and it's not needed I'll turn it off at the compressor as a cutout to keep it from being turned on by accident

I appreciate the feedback guys...seems pretty simple and isn't expensive...I've noticed nothing said about ARB...any reason why?

Puma Air Compressor | eBay

I have had mine for 2 years got it after some reviews and recommendations from the overlanding guys on other forums. I would say it is at least as fast if not faster than going to any gas station for air.
