Default Bikini Tops, mesh or not?

I have a 08 4 door JK Rubi hard top. I'm planning on purchasing a Bikini top.

I found this nice looking one and wanted to know if anyone could give me some advice.

I think I lioke the idea of the mesh top but wanted to ask others before making the decision.

I had a mesh top on my yj and liked it except when it rained. I would get pretty wet. I ended up junking it for one that kept rain out. If you are getting it only for blocking sun it works good and doesn't flap as loud.

I've only used solid bikini tops. It's going to keep the rain and sun (and even wind) off you better.

i have the solid bikini top and aside from the flapping i think its the best option. the mesh may alleviate some of the flapping, but would offer no protection from the rain.

Love the mesh safari top...helps protect from the sun's UV rays for my kids and cuts down on wind on the highway. Also, you do get some sun into the passenger compartment which is nice. Drawback is that it's not rain proof.

Had both with my YJ, ended using the mesh one the most. Gives you a little shade yet still has that top off feeling.

I do both. I use the Freedom Top panels in front and did a home-made mesh cover for the rear seat. Had to keep the sun off the pooch. He doesn't seem to mind the rain as much as I do.

I have both of bestops bikinis and just swap out the header channel depending on which one im running. The mesh is nice in the heat and solid is nice in the rain. As far as flapping goes stuff a t-shirt, towel or even a hi-lift jack base btween the sound ba and bikini and goodbye flaping.

Glad you asked this as I'm in the same boat. I want to buy a bikini top and I was trying to figure out the details of what to buy. I would love feedback on specific brands if someone has experience with more than one?
