Biggest tires with 2.5 lift?
When I redeploy, looking to run a Rough Country 2.5" lift. What are the largest tire I can run with the lift with factory rims and no cutting or use of spacers? I have heard 34" and in some cases 35". Also, does anyone know anything about Treadwright tires and what are your thoughts.
Thanks for the hook-up.

re: Treadwrights
400 miles after I bought my '10 Jeep I put 265/75-16E Guard Dog's on my stock steelies. They worked well (they were kinda noisy), on and off road, for 4000 miles when I took them off and put the new 315/75-16D's on. I do need to have them re-balanced. I asked the tech to only weight the inside of the wheel for looks, so it's my fault. There's a little wiggle from 40-45.
I can't answer your question about clearance w/ your lift, other than I'll say I doubt you'll be able to go over 285's on stock wheels with no spacers, lift or not. Since the above picture, I've cut my fenders because I didn't think they'd clear disco'd. I will say that my tires measure 34" on the ground at 30 PSI.
Hope any of that helps.

The 2.5" lift makes no difference. The thing that limits tire size with stock wheels is the deep backspacing. The wheels are tucked in so far that anything bigger than a 33" tire is going to rub the frame at full steering lock. You can run 33s with stock suspension, and after adding a 2.5" suspension lift, ... you can still run 33" tires. Not being willing to use wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels with less backspacing is what is limiting tire size.

From the FAQ's:
Q: What is the biggest size tire that I can I fit with a 2.5" Budget Boost?
A: 33" without any problems and 35" tires with only minor rubbing at a full flex. Depending on how wide your tires are, you may experience some rubbing at a full turn especially if you did not install an adjustable front track bar and/or are still running factory wheels which have 6.25" of back spacing.
Lots of people run a 35x12.5x17 tire on the stock rim. If you're worried about running wheel spacers though (which lots of people on here do with no problems, myself included) then you can just adjust your steering stops. Just see the write-up on the Project-JK section.
Good luck though, and make sure you post some pics when you're finished!

I'm running a Rough Country 2.5" Series II budget boost and nothing more. I have the weight of the front bumper and winch which sags a little. I fit 35 12.50 18 trail grapplers under mine. Now i wouldnt be doing any hard core articulating cause they will rub like a mother but you can defenitly get away with doing some mild wheeling. Here's a couple shatty cell pics.
