Default Bigger Tire = Spare won't fit

Does anyone know where to get an adapter at a reasonable price to move the spare up and out a few inches? Also is it safe to do so with a 36" tire on a stock JK Spare mount?

Thats a ton of weight on your tailgate...I would be concerned about warping when running offroad.

i dont recomend a 36" tire on the spare at all. i would not run past a 33". use the search bar. there a re a number of people who cannot close there tailgate due to the extra weight pulling on it over time.

I used a spidertrax spacer and sold the other one because they came in a pair. Not a big deal, I run a 97 lb tire/rim combo offroad and the rubber bumpers are not touching the tire. I will use the daystar bumpers eventually but jeep says you can add 50 lbs to the tailgate for bikes and such,

That would mean you could safely run 74lbs plus 50lbs so about 125 lbs would be max for the tailgate in the shut position!

I am well within that spec. My wheel/tire combo is 88 lbs.

I wonder what a stock wheel/tire combo weighs.

I used the one in the link below until I bought new tires. I spoke with the people at Expedition One, and the pic of the Jeep in the link is running a 37" tire on it.

In my first post that is the weight of the 32" rubicon mud tire and wheel combo. 74lbs.

I've seen stock tailgates become warped after a few months with a 35 on it... sounds like you've been lucky so far, but I would be weary about putting that much weight on my tailgate.
