I had to clean up some of the left over welds on one side with minor filing and buy smaller bolts to get a tight fit. I sent them an email and got no response so I had to share with fellow JKers.

I always love product reviews. thank you. I use the site mainly for the infor on products so that I know what im buying. so again thank you

Cool

What is the big deal if you have to enlarge a hole here and there during installation? You got your item at the lowest price you could find, so deal with it! Besides, even a more pricey version does not garantee perfect fitment! Remember...it's a JEEP thing...

Is there an equivalent to these that are better quality with a more guaranteed/promised fitment? I'll be slapping some 33" meats as well as a 2.5" RK lift within the next couple of weeks and my wife is already telling me to get some steps for her pregnant ass.

I was looking at the Smittybilts as I absolutely love the way they look. But not long after I started looking into them, I saw some negative reviews and decided to look for some feedback here and came across this thread. I'll be spending more time in mud than bouncing off rocks, but would still like some protection worthy of, well, being labeled as "protection" just in case.

So, are there any rock slider/step combos that bolt to the frame, not the body, without having to reinforce the welds or drilling out factory holes? I know there are rock sliders that can be stepped on, but I want something with a dedicated step for my wife. I do not want standard side steps. I'd love for them to look as close to these Smittys as possible.

Agreed! Worst instructions ever, they are advertised as "bolt on" but far from it, I just finished putting mine on today.

Shrockworks I think. they seem to have more attachment points than the SB and look about the same. I might try these.

I have the LoD ones. They bolt to the frame. They are so well built that you can use them as a lift point for your hi lift, if needed.

I have nfab with steps. Has anyone used them on any challenging terrain. I'm concerned about the steps hanging up.
