is it better to buy 16inch rims with more backspacking or just get spacers?

Default is it better to buy 16inch rims with more backspacking or just get spacers?

Im getting wider tires 12.50s and i was wondering what would be better. I do offroad as frequent as i can and its not my DD. what do you all recommend?
if i buy new rims i just want some steel 16" in black. don't care just cheap is fine. any suggestions?

I have the stock 16" steelies right now with 33x11.5(measure to 11.2) on them and i will be getting some free 33x12.50s (i rub under full turning with the 11.50s)

thanks,
-Nick

You actually need wheels with LESS backspacing.

I've been thinking about upgrading just the tires on my steelies as well.

From what I've gathered, 12.50s would be too wide for the 7 inch wheels.

This is why I've decided to stick with 265/75/16 on mine. At least I can afford new wheels with less backspace.

You will be better off with a wider aftermarket wheel with less backspacing. A 12.50 inch wide tire is a little too wide for the stock 7.5 inch wide wheels.
