best overall and most affordable 2.5" lift for 4 door?

I went with a Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit ($120) and chopped fenders for the cheapest way. Been meaning to upgrade to true 2.5" lift (Probably Metal Cloak), but things like regearing and getting my DW squared away been getting in the way.

I was going to suggest the Rancho 2" sport lift. I have a buddy that has that lift and it has been great for him so far. I helped him install it. Ride is great and price is awesome. You get front coils and rear spacers packaged together with their popular RS9000XL shocks. Great value if you ask me.

Spacers are fine, but it you plan on adding more weight (bumpers/armor/carrier/etc), new coils will handle it better.
No reason to spend money on new shocks if you are happy with the current ones, just get extensions. If you find that you start offroading more, then you can look into a better/longer shock.
Having the axles centered is a good thing, so look for a kit with decent relo brackets.
Swaybars will be angled down. Look for a kit that has new rear links, and you will move your stock rear links up front.
Brakelines will be stretched. You can unhook them to add a bit, or run to the hardware store and make some extension brackets, or find a kit that includes brackets.
Caster will be a bit lower, causing flightier handling. May not an issue at 2.5", but if you don't like the handling, you have several options to choose from. Just do some research before deciding.

Great info! Thanks for the detail. What lift would you personally suggest?

I'm only running a metal stubby bumper (Evo 1/4 Pounder) at the moment, but do you think the 2" springs could be used as leveling coils?
