Default Best Looking Modified Intake

I just made this myself. I think it looks awesome and will be testing all next week for performance gains and increased fuel mileage. I have to put a bung on the intake for the vacuum line still but this it what it looks like so far. It has a 9" AEM dry filter with 3.5" pipes going into the stock intake throttle body. Let me know what you guys think!

VERY NICE! I am going to make my own as well. Where did you get your tubing and clamps?

Try a truck repair shop, we use them mostly on larger diesel engines.

Silicon fittings and clamps came from siliconeintakes.com and the pipes I got off of ebay.

Not sure the size of the JK's intake, but what I did for my car was buy a generic 3" chrome tube from auto zone (spectre intake - $40) and bought a K&N Cone Style Filter.. The way the tube is made.. it'll fit most vehicles..

yea nice job I like seeing things being made instead of being bought.....

I too am making my own CAI with "cold air box". my material is being shipped to me from "woolf" (who posted above) it's 3" aluminum which I will tig weld together. hopefully I'll get to mess with it next week once the material shows up..

Has anybody bought the AEM brute force intake? Is it worth the money?

Thumbs up

I just got the vacuum line bung on and the project is almost complete. I just now got back from the test drive and it pulls like it's nobody's business. I know I know, to truly make real gains you need a free flowing exhaust as well; but from what I can tell this intake really adds torque throughout the entire rpm range. I love it; now to just build a custom cold air box/shield. Oh by the way; it sounds so mean when you get on it; have the nice whistle when you shift gears but when you punch it it really roars!

Cool

sorry for the replies back to back but I got the 9" dry element from AEM; great filter and design; 6" at base and 5.5" at top. From what I can tell it's a great system (AEM Brute Force) but with my 3.5" piping and larger filter I think I can flow more air as soon as i redo my exhaust.
