Two things that need to be taken into account.

1. Is everyone adjusting for the tire size or had their speedo corrected

2. Rake has alot to do with miliage. If I remove my spare tire and rear seat the back of my Jeep is about 1" higher than the front. This set up gets much better miliage.

One time I took my winch off and had the spare tire and rear seat in with the fron about 1" higher than the back and I was getting in the 15 mpg

Factory 2007 X gets my wife about 18 and I can get 19 sometimes. If you'renot taking it offroad anyway and the look doesn't bother you, go low profile. Low rolling resistance helps. Performance intakes and exhausts supposedly allow for more power without more fuel by lowering manifold vacuum and backpressure, i.e. friction.

I can't stand a low jeep.. I'm 35, and I still haven't gotten to the point that stock is good enough.. haha.. My last truck (2008 F350) had an 11'' Rize adjustable lift and 37's. Before that was an H2.. etc.. etc.. I already have the 37's, but have considered trading for 35's for more practicality. From the info on this thread, it really doesn't seem like there would be much of a difference between the 35's and 37's from a mpg standpoint. Though they catch a bad rap, the H2 was very comfortable and did well for a stock vehicle off road. The fuel mileage was around 10-11 in town, and 12.5 on the interstate.. As long as I'm a few more than the H2, I'm good.. My jeep is paid for, so I don't mind spending a little more on fuel.. On the other hand, I hate feeding the gas pump.

35s+5.13s+Auto+ 4.5 lift+ Flahpaq = 15-16.5 MPG in my case. I can also accelerate to pass in most situations and can stay in OD at 65-70 on medium climbs.

I rolled on a set of 37s from a relative for a week earlier this year and I lost the ability to comfortably accelerate when cruising a above 70 MPH without dropping down 2 gears. Also my MPG went down to 13.5-15 MPG. It wasn't a comprehensive test but I got a feel for life with 37s.

sorry for the late reply,

i am running my stock rubi 4:10s with 37s and getting 16mpg my commute is 100 miles per day freeway and 10 miles streets i get about 14.5 mpg on the street and about 17.5 freeway. the hills kill me going up hill on freeway and i am at about 12mpg. I have thought about a re gear, but in talking to others i think my rpm would be to high on the freeway and would crush my milage. if i did more street driving i would do it maybe 5:13s. Look at your primary driving. I also have a flashpaq exhaust and an intake so that may be why i am getting 16 and not 14. oh and yes spedo is calculated

Nope, 6 speed. The computer in the dash says 16.4 MPG if I'm easy on the gas pedal.

37 tires, 5.13 gears, 4 inch lift, and I get 17.5-18, wife gets 18.5-19 if I take off spare tire.

I also meticulously maintain my jeep and follow the Jeep Manual tune-ups to the "T." We use middle grade fuel(90 or higher on road trips), swap oil and oil filters in half the recommended swap time.

I got 21-22 when it was stock.

If you read my signature, you can see all the extra weight we have as well. I drive it like a grandma as well.
