Best fuel mileage setup for lifted Jeep on 35's or 37's.. Gear ratio? Mileage?
I bought an unlimited a couple weeks ago, and have "5" 37 12.50 17 BFG AT's. I don't really get to off road much of ever. I bought the jeep because of resale value, enough room for the kids, fuel mileage (much better than my previous H2), and many parts to make it unique. My question is, what is the over all best combination for fuel mileage with an auto running 35 or 37'' tires? My 37's actually measure 36.3 inches. I do interstate drive fairly often, so I'd like to comfortably run in the 70-75 mph zone. I've read some good mpg numbers on 513's and 35's. If I've made a mistake, I'll sell the 37's and go to 35's. I just want to make it look great and get fair mileage in the process. I've researched other fuel mileage threads, and found bits and pieces of info here an there..
Those with lifted auto trans JK's on 35 or 37's, please list your mpg and your gear ratio. I'll very much appreciate the info.. Thanks in advance..

when i had 305/70/17 and my 410's w/3"sus lift and a 1" body I got 17MPG driving 100m/day freeway and 10 miles surface streets.
now I have 37's they measure 36 rest of the set up is the same 16MPG.
the key is your route and type of driving.
hills kill and if you drive in alot of hills re-gear may work for you 5:13 for 37's city driving kills and would lend itself to re gear also. flat freeway and you can get away like i am w/out re gear. if you have 35's i would not re-gear w/4:10's
i can not speak to 3.73 or 3.21 leave that to someone w/experience

Dwikto, are you now running the 37's with 513 gears? I read you get 16 mpg. Is that the average of city and hwy? If so, do you know about what you get just in city, and just on hwy? If mine would get 16 as an average, I could definitely live with that. Mine must have 3.21 gears by the sluggishness it has upon takeoff. Going very, very easy, mine sees 17.5 mpg stock (mixed driving) hand calculated.
