Like always, it depends on what the wallet allows.

Wow guys, this turned into a front axle conversation. I had a sport with a D30, so went with the PR44 unlimited...this has the 1/2" wall tube.

I think the upgraded rear shafts and locker will be sufficient. Truss isn't super necessary in my opinion.

Hope this clears up the question on if I have a rubi...nope, it's a sport

The rear axle is far more important as it is the where all the stress is as where etc front is more of an assist when wheeling forwards or up hill. It does not take much of a bounce to break a rear rubi shaft and while upgrading to cro-mo will help it will not eliminate breaks and bend flanges if abused.

On a broken shaft on a semi float the axle will come out of the housing where on a full float you can run with a broken shaft as the wheel is attached to the housing and not the shaft.

The biggest problem with upgrading to a PR44 front is that it re-uses the unit bearings and brakes. If you account for installing lock outs and upgraded brakes you are right where a 60 will be in terms of cost and will have a much stronger set up.
