I looked, they are over $2000 on there, I called the one closest to me today and asked him about his $2200 price and he said that was the going yard price. I explained that for $1700 I could get one from the dealer, and he suggested I go to the dealer because he can't buy them at at that money. I'm zip 15005 in the north east, go run it, you'll see what I see.

Note, this is the nature of my life. If I'm buying something, it can't be had for unde the price of pure gold. If I'm selling it, it's not worth 2 cents. The going prices will reflect my immediate needs.

You'll need to call and check that. My guess is it comes with open carrier, gears, inner shafts, joints, and outer shafts. Then you re-use your brakes/hubs. But that's just a guess.

And if you are considering a 44 upgrade, you could even buy an empty housing and just slap it on and drive. Then start filling it when you get the money. It will leave you 2wd for a while, but it's an option to get in to an upgrade.

If you bent an OEM axle, then why put an OEM axle back in? At least plan on adding sleeves and gussets to an OEM housing, or use an aftermarket one. If going after market, it maybe worth it in the long run to try and budget a little more and build a 44. I know, bigger budget is easier said than done.

What would be the best way to deal with this? I assume I can use my internals with a Tera30 housing and not have additional costs, I know I can buy brand new blank OEM housings that have the C and ball joints on eBay for around $1350 shipped. It's there a best value choice that I'm missing?

I'm running the stick Rubi wheels and 32" tires, I really don't plan to go bigger. I'm happy with the performance of the break lock traction control system, off anything I might add a front limited slip next year.

I'm not locating any Dana 30 or Rubicon 44 take off complete axles with 3.73 gears, so it looks like whatever I do, it will be new.

My dealer wants $1710 for a factory housing, so the eBay route sound better than them. EBay D30 is around $1350 and the Teraflex Tera30 is $2000, and that's pushing really hard at the end of my money supply.

Any advice, I would appreciate it. I'm in western Pennsylvania, so I don't have big rock climbing, more dirt trails, small rock and lots of ruts. I'm a low range, low gear wheeler, so really a stock Dana 30 should hold up fine. My bent axle was a one time life lesson, I will not repeat that mistake.

My bent axle as it sits outside :'(

It's not bent a little, I did it all the way.

If your sticking with 32" tires, then a Tera30 is really all that you need. FYI we use the same tubes/brackets/inner C's on these as our Tera44's.

Because one act of pure insanity is not a pattern. I entered the mud bog at the local fair and the Jeep jumped off the ground. The issue was that it landed. Hard. So, lesson learned. I'm not trying to use/steal/lie for warranty, and I'm not doing something stupid like that again, it's a one and done.

I'd never bend a Dana 30 driving around on trails with the Rubicon wheels and tires, and I'm very happy doing just that.

LOL, never say never. A good pothole is all it takes sometimes. Or a sidewalk curb...

I have a nearly new D30 for sale off my 2013 JK, 3.73 gears, sleeved and gusseted, just sitting in a warm garage. You're not too far from me, so we could easily figure out a way to get it to you. I'd sell for way under $1000. Plug and play, already beefed up housing. Part out your D30 and it won't cost much at all.

I'm interested. Where are you at, I'm 20 miles north of Pittsburgh, at the I-79/Pa Turnpike intersection.

Oops, my mental maps need some work. I'm in the Detroit area, so about 5 hours away. Not up the road, but not bad when you need an axle
