Default Best 3"- 4" Lift for under $2,500?

Hello Everyone,

I am about to take delivery of a 2014 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited X, and I want to put on some 35" tires with possibly later on putting on 37's. I would like your recommendations on what lift is the best for under $2,500. I would really like to have reservoir shocks on this Jeep. This Jeep will be my daily commuter, so I will probably be on the highway 85% of the time, and off-road 15% of the time. My biggest concern is to have a Jeep that is "highway drivable" everyday, and not "squirley", even if I have to sacrifice some off-road ability. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

King Con

I'm going with the AEV Dualsport RS 3.5"in. on my 10A in the spring.. It comes with Bilstein 5160 shocks which have a reservoir.. The kit also comes with the AEV geometry correction brackets, which allow you to keep the stock control arms, AEV tuned springs, and a Procal tuner.. The lift is $2175.. Almost all of the reviews on it say it's great, especially on the road.. I was looking at the Rock Krawler 3.5"in. as well, but would have to purchase shocks seperately.

No kit rides better than metal cloak but it's $2700 with shocks. Worth the $200 over your budget IMO.

if you can catch their free shipping sale and are eligible for their military discount, it's $2560 shipped.

Look into RockKrawler. Their lifts are high quality, ride and perfom great. I have the 5.5" with their 2.0 reservoir shocks and I'm running 37s. That lift includes their draglink flip. Jeep drives great, zero bump steer, a steering stabilizer is not needed. They also have a 2.5" and 3.5" kit as well.
Contact Jake and Tom at Smashboogie 4x4, they can hook you up with great pricing.

You must be pretty hard core to spend 55 days a year wheeling. Are you rock crawling or running expedition style? Carrying lots of gear? Why 3"-4" of lift and not 6" or 2"

I only spend a couple of weeks a year off road, hunting, fishing, etc. I will probably not be doing a whole lot of rock crawling, but I would like to go down to Moab since I am not that far away. I have been told by my dealer (Dave Smith) that lifting the will void the warranty, but other dealers have said if I stay under 4" that it would not void the warranty.

Thanks,

King Con

I went with the BDS 3" lift, with the upgrade to the Fox shocks and the steering upgrade

I have been very happy with it both on and off road

When I got it I only had 33's but I just went to 37's and the Jeep drives and feels amazing

A lot of it is gearing...I'm on 5:13 now

I would go with 3" TereFlex. I like to keep my Jeep lower. You can still run big tires with a 2.5" lift with flat flares. With a smaller lift just add some good skid plates and you can go just about anywhere.

Are you installing it? If not, labor will put a serious dent in your budget. I running the 3.5" Rock Krawler lift with 37" Terra Grapplers. It makes for a good DD and trail rig. I think one of the vendors has a RK specials that includes free Bilstiene shocks. You can always upgrade them later as your budget allows.
