yea, i cant say for sure how fast i was going but i know i was surprised when my oil filter and this bracket were the only things to get hurt (besides my soreness the next day).

Are you sure you didn't damage your spring, or bumpstop, or shock?! You compressed and shifted everything enough to contact your oilfilter, you musta hit pretty hard.

I am going to take a guess that the control arm mount bent first causing the axle to shift sideways making contact with the oil filter. Doesn't seem that surprising giving the condition of the control arm mount.

Makes sense to me. Just take a good look around while it is being fixed to make sure everything else is all good.

ive been driving around on it for a little while since it happened, waiting for the brackets to come in, and my shocks seem fine right now... I've spent some time underneath and everything else looks fine. il just have to hope it stays that way when i start taking stuff apart.
