Default Bent d60 from a 2008 super duty

So I had the chance to pick up some 1 tons out of a 2008 super duty. They only had 8 miles on them and I got them for a great deal. However the front one has a big dent in the tube, and is slightly bent. The axle can still be turned easily by hand. Should I try to have it straightened? Or would I be better off getting another one? Thanks in advance.

If you have the change buy a new one. I've heard of people re-tubing axles but I have no idea how successful they were. I'm sure you could pay somebody to attempt a straightening, but I'd be concerned about trueness.

Yeah. I guess some drunk guy stole the truck from the dealership while it was idling and wrecked it. That's how they only have 8 miles on them. The rear one is in perfect condition though.

Now actually seeing the axle, we'd trash it. As noted, we have re-tubed the axle, but it is far too much work to be worth while. Given the hit it had to take to make that dent, I would be concerned that it damaged the cast as well. You may not see it, but it can be there.
