You'd be surprised, a lot of us do have bent axles, but they just aren't bent that badly. If it gets to a point where you can obviously visually see the bend then you have a serious problem. From what I've seen, on the rear axle, a severe bend is often going to show leaking where the shaft connects to the diff. However, on the fronts, you'll see it in the C's first.

Kinda off topic, but 6.5" of lift on 35's?

i have not pulled my rear axle to check it, but its not much of a bend. just enough to wobble the tire and rub the brakes on the rotor, so i pulled the brakes off and run with out them. 3 brakes took some getting use to since it would pull slightly when pressed.

Default replacements

Just letting you guys know. I have found it to be impossible to find a replacement right rear axle shaft for a sahara Dana 44 unless you buy from the dealer. I don't want chromoly cause I don't want to buy two. I just want a replacement. If anyone knows where to find one...Lemme Know!!!

can someone elaborate on this. if you replace the driveshaft, arent you replacing the flange also since its attatched to the axle., im not understanding what he is talking about that it could be be the flange if he replaced the axle

thats why i said i was stupid... it is conected to the shaft. the first shaft i bent by hitting my rim on rock sliding off a steap shelf on a trail. replaced it but the noise from the brakes came back. i was thinking of the end of axle where the bearing is seated when i said flange. i had not hit anything after that so i didn't think i bent the 2nd shaft. i pulled it and found that it was bent. long story short... i waisted $250 on a stock shaft... 35's and the RE4.5 seems a bit much for the stock shafts...

What is the second shaft? the axle tube? I have a wheel that wobbles in the back and a brake that squeeks, I have the chromoloy shafts and I am about to put them in, would be nice to know what to look for if the new shafts do not fix the problem.

i replaced the first shaft i bent and then bent the one i replaced it with

2nd same as 1st..... your new shafts should do the trick and the noise from the brakes should stop if you havn't drove to long on the bent shaft
