Lol, be sure to unplug them before putting in the bulb or cleaning. And point away from you when turning on again.

I wouldn't. The housing is designed to handle the heat from the 55w. You'll need to swap almost everything to make sure you have something that won't burn or blow up on you.
Not a good idea on the trail at night.
You want more light - look at the LED stuff out there. Brighter and lower amp draw.
You'll get used to the look.

Wires and fuses are same from 55w to the 100w sets.
It is quite possible that the wiring may be sufficent to handle the additional load. One would have to visually varify the conductor size to be certain. However the fuse rating is a completely different story. Or atleast it should be.

Get a set of 4300k 55w hid bulbs from vvme.com. I have them in my hella 500 housings and they are bright. Much brighter than my 130w halogen bulbs I had in. Cost is about 70 bucks.
