Beating An Old Horse
FNG here guys so please excuse me.....I just picked up a 2011 JK Unlimited Sport S and added new tires as the Goodyear SR-A P255-75-R17's suck. Was wondering if the Discount Tire guy sold me a bill of goods with the size of tire he sold me. I like the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 tire just fine and have had the rig out deer hunting on some rugged terrain with no difficulties.....but after reading here on the forum it sounds as if the LT285-70-17'S he sold me are TOO BIG and need some kind of spacers and steering travel stops????? Jeep had tires swapped at 18 miles and has 1700 miles total on it now. If this is the wrong size tire I'm going to make them make it right.....

Apparently there is no such thing as tires that are TOO BIG for a JK, but calcs show you have basically 33's (32.7") so you might rub a little bit on your sway bars or plastic air dam. Nothing really to worry about. You might also feel a bit underpowered and the speedo might be out a bit.
I would be happy that you unknowingly upgraded to 33's and have been driving and wheeling without any problems for 1700 miles! Don't go any smaller!

Like the above post said, a little bit of rubbing is always possible with a different setup. Whether it be on the air dam or sway bar links.
Wheel spacers will fix the problem quickly and relatively at a low cost. They give JKs a relly cool stance too.
I personally went with aftermarket wheels to avoid any issues in the future as well.
Nice choice for the meats though, those are some sweet ass tires!!!
