We didn't freeze mine but another person in our club did and didn't do much for her, they went in fine until we got to the textured part of the sleeve, perhaps the sleeves were out of spec cause the last set the club installed were not as thick or as hard to get in

Last couple inches where it is knurled is more difficult for sure. Do a search and you will find some pics of tools to make the job easier.

I put mine in the freezer overnight and used some bearing grease on the outside to help them slide easier.I used a 10 lb hammer and some pipe with the bearing tool sitting inside of it.

I did mine solo! I put on a 5 gal bucket and bracing to hold in place, then move the axle up/down with the jack under the axle to get proper hight. I would also weld on a metal block to end of the pipe to keep from crushing in, as pictured. I wrapped duct tape around handle to hold in pipe, and would get a 20 lb. sledge!!!!!!!

I would hit once, then have to reset, hit, reset, etc. It took 8 hrs. to do! Also, keep the opposite tire mounted and on the ground to help keep the axle from moving every time you hit it.

I need a home brew just thinging about it!

A helping hand really makes a difference. The actual hammering probably was about thirty minutes. Its really not that bad if you have a second set of hands.

I was part of that 8 rig install party! The second day with a 20 pound sledge and the tool that Familytime made, we did a rig in just a few hits of the sledge! Get a BFH!
