Question Beadlock Backspacing & Width for 37s or 40s - Help?

I plan to run 37 x 12.50 R-17 BFG MT T/A KM2 Tires in my new setup, but may eventually upgrade to 40s with D60s.

I really like the look of the 17 x 9.5" Allied Monster RT Beadlock Wheels. Is the 9.5" width the right way to go for my future setup?

If so, what backspacing would you recommend?

I will eventually be running Evo front coilovers & Evo lever rear with a 6" FT lift on a 4-DR Rubicon if that matters.

Thanks.

I can't quote you backspacing numbers. But I can tell you I run AEV beadlocks with the 4" FT Long arm lift. I had minor rubbing issue on rear upper control arms only when the suspension is traveled. Because of the arc of the track bar, I had ~1/4" interference on the left side under rebound, and ~1/4" interference on the right side under jounce. If these wheels had 1/2" more backspacing, I'd be fine. I run 305/65R17's currently. I had to put the spidertrax 1.5" spacers. Now i have tons of clearance.

To be safe and depending on your tire size, I'd consider at least 3/4"-1" less backspacing than the AEV's (pushing the wheel outward). I believe the AEV's are ~4.7" backspacing. So I would look at around 4.0" to be safe.

Hope this helps.

That is pretty much my exact set up. The Racelines are great. Just be aware that if you start with D44's the bolt pattern is 5x5, where on all D60's the bolt pattern is a minimum 5x5.5. You can buy spacers to fit 5x5.5 wheel on a 5x5 hub. Cheaper than replacing the wheels when you got to a D60.

What backspacing did you choose for the Racelines? Did you get a spacer? I assume if you got a bolt-on version, it is safe?

Also, on another note, I think I saw that you have the Warn PowerPlant + 2.5 gal tank/plumbing kit. Since I am sure you had to relocate your exhaust with the Evo Lever, where did you put your tank? And did you relocate the EV?

And on the same topic, did you get the manual or air valve version of the ORO Disconnects? If so, did you hook that into the 2.5 gal tank? And how?

Thanks again

Not positive off the top of my head, but I think the back spacing is 4" on my wheels. I will look it up tonight.
I never needed spacers as I did the axles at the same time as the rest of the upgrades. I did run spacers on the D44's and they seemed to work fine.

I got rid of the tank, wasn't worth all the hassles with it. Didn't seem to speed up the airing up process. Was mounted under the jeep where the evap canister was before it was relocated with the kilby relo kit.

The oro is run with air system. It is plumbed to the ARB compressor that also runs the ARB lockers.

I figured somewhere in the 4" BS range would work. Thanks for looking that up for me tonight.

Regarding the air tank, I was trying to do the 2.5gal tank so I could run air tools on the trail if needed...but it may not be worth all the trouble. I may end up going with a seperate compressor (ARB) for the ORO and future ARBs. May end up costing about the same as buying the tank and plumbing kit from Warn...

Thanks again.
