Ball joints wearing out?

"lifetime guarantee" /= "never need replacing'. Lifetime guarantee in the U.S. is not a legally defined term. It is marketing-speak for whatever the manufacturer says it means--usually until the part end of life from normal wear and tear. Not knocking TF--I like their stuff--just that term "lifetime guarantee".

We installed them on my dad's 2008 JKU and they didn't even last a year. Which is sad to say. The problem is that they rode good and were very nice until they wore in and wouldn't adjust. We attempted to adjust them I think it was 1000 miles after install and they would not budge. We tried backing them off thinking maybe they were too tight but they were stuck. I installed them and verified the torque spec before install. After contacting them about replacements due to the fact that they would not adjust they said go back to the shop you had install it because they didn't adjust them before install. So no they would not honor their 'this is the last ball joint you'll ever need to buy' slogan. And I do love Teraflex but I know these won't be going on my 2 Dr. They wore out on 35s and weekend warrior/daily driving. Approximately 10,000 miles.

starting to see a lot more negative comments about TF joints recently. Kinda to the point that there aren't even any good moderately priced options IMO.

Mine has over 160K on the originals... with 33" tires though.

Well yes, results vary with build, use and quality of local roads. I dealt with 2 sets of Synergy in a 12 month period and then a set of DT that had to be rebuilt in under 40k miles. The factory ones didn't take long to die on my jeep. The factory and Synergys were blow threw on 35s and the DTs bit the dust with 37s. I have a different axle now with a different set of DTs (not by my choice on brand) and I've had no issue with them yet, though the jeep is more of a toy these days and sees less daily driving.
