I'm debating the same now Dynatrac ball joints 14 mo's old and shot..... Debating on synergy. I'm in Canada it only took 3 weeks several emails and 2 PM's here to finally get a response from Dynatrac ..... 0 emails returned by the way...., going to the best shop in Ontario Rockspyder4x4 he's expensive but does great work to see what the quotes going to be on rebuilds. I'm afraid to find out with our weak Canadian dollar too.

You don't need new joints. You need smaller tires or a bigger axle. Otherwise, just keep rebuilding them.
So I have a PR 44 with the Dynatrac ball joints .... Are you saying they're the better choice vs synergy? Or just as bad size wise? Thx

I'm saying that axle is not a worthwhile upgrade. $5k for a stronger housing, but it is still a D44, which means the ball joints are still too small, the front hubs too weak, etc.

The only thing worse than a PR44 upgrade is a semi-float rear 60. Now that's pure snake oil.

It's not that bad. Just a little more upkeep and some parts wear a little fast. Good news is that if/when you decide to upgrade, there will be a line of people wanting that axle and you'll get close to what you paid. No loss there.

They needed rebuilding at 10K longer then stock but I don’t think that’s enough. I took them to the reputable Jeep shop that has sold about 40-45 sets of these. It was the first set to need replacing so it was R&D time for them. 16 hours at least one specialty tool made they were able the rebuild them. They could have sold me new ones and changed them out faster and cheaper then rebuilding them. Needless to say they are not happy and will be complaining to Dynatrac that these ball joints are not as advertised as it takes at least 2 hours for the glue to dry on each ball not including all the rest of the stuff.

As advertised on their website:
“The Dynatrac ProSteer Ball Joints provide higher strength, longer life and once installed can be rebuilt without special tools. This improves servicing the ball joints more easily in the field or at home. Rebuilding the ProSteer Ball Joint at home or at your local shop will cost less than having new OEM ball joints installed at an alignment shop or the dealer.”

Sorry but BS

All that being said when worn out they were still better then stock as the stock ones vibrated at any speed these just vibrated at 65+.

PS they only charged me regular ball joint rate not the 16 hours because they knew it was going to be R&D time.
WOW! Didnt expect to see this post, they were supposed to be the greatest thing out since the 2nd coming. May have to rethink this now!

I wont be able to change my axles out for at least another year. Would you suggest spending the extra money on the Dynatracs or just go with the synergy being that I will have the stock 44's for awhile? This is next months project and I was willing to spend the extra money ont he Dynas?

I'd run the Synergy. If they don't last, they will warranty them. They did it for me.

Those are pretty sweet, but there is so little user data to say how well they do in the real world.
