Are you installing them yourself? If so, I'd probably roll the dice. As much as I like Northridge, if you return them their restocking charge sucks balls.

If you are paying to get them installed, that's a tough call.

Are you still running stock tires/wheels? You'll probably be ok if you still are.

I think it was the teraflex video they advised against using knurled unless you had a sloppy fit or if knurled was previously used.
I have almost 20,000 miles on mine. They are still tight. I grease them at each tire rotation @ 3,000 miles.

Yep I'll be doing the install myself, i figured there would be a restocking charge as well as he hasle of shipping them back. Ill probably just put them in and see. I'm on stock rims and tires now but am picking up a set or 33's off my buddy at work in a few weeks.

Well I guess I got a great Napa dealer. I get worn parts replaced.

Update: Took it to a different shop during lunch to have the ball joints checked and he said they are perfectly fine. He referred me to another shop to have it aligned, since he didn't have an alignment rack. I'm also going to have them check the ball joints, as well.

I'll do the same. I am going to be replacing the drag link and tie rod as well and they also have grease zerks so i will be under there with the grease gun anyways.

Greasable ball joints make perfect sense when one is going to redo what someone else didn't in the first place. I'm use to the greasable kind from old school days. Thus new greasable Moog Ball joints are on our list.. can't afford the Rare Part's Version at $400.00+ a set.. and only 1 year warranty & made in the USA.

What did the first shop show you? The second shop is not seeing whatever it was that 'you' saw at the first shop? Or the second shop is saying that whatever it is you saw is not a failed/failing balljoint? You just had it aligned, what is the second shop thinking needs to be changed or checked with a second alignment?

The first shop put a pry bar under each tire and showed up and down movement. At that time, I was under the impression that the ball joints were not supposed to have any up and down movement. However, after doing some research and reading the posts in the thread, I realized that a certain amount is acceptable.

I'm not sure what the second guy did, but he said that they looked good to him.

I originally went in to the first shop to have an alignment done, but they would not align it since they believed the ball joints needed replaced (it would need re-aligned afterwards, anyway).

Sorry for the confusion, I should have explained things a little better.

Tim, you're on the money with that.. same thing here.. 3 shops and all said the same thing.. However one shop, I had to show them how to do the pry bar test.. all three shops gave the a passing grade.. But the new ball joints are on tap in a few months.
