I dissected an early Crown JK ball joint several years ago. While the outside dimensions matched the OEM ball joints, the ball/socket inside the lower joint was much smaller.

I'll dissect and post pics of a worn HD Crown ball joint if someone sends me one.

Wow. No wonder I got a 100K out of my OEM BJs, and only 20K out of the Crowns.

I would have thought you'd want the lower greasable. It's the one that takes the brunt of the wear.

I have the XRF ball joints which were originally designed for 1 ton pick ups and has a million mile guarantee.

They are polished metal ball and socket with grease fittings.

They can be found on eBay for $159. Order the ones for the 99-04 Cherokee. I have been running them for almost a year and have been great.

If your axle does not inner gussets so then with the ball joints out.

I run xrf on my D60. Diesel and truck guys swear by them. Great price as well.

I honestly have heard notrhing bad about synergy but with any product your gunna have that 1 or 2% that have failed and were defective. but I have synergy and have no problems and love them. friend of mine had synergy and failed in the first thousand miles and called them up and they overnighted him brand new ones. so good customer service.

Any more info on these? Is the steering tight as hell? Pics? Looking at the pics on eBay it looks like the zerk on the lower balljoint is straight up and not slanted. Does that interfere with the ujoint? Thanks
