Default Ball joint noise

Just checked ball joints and when i lifted up on tire with a pry bar there is alittle movement straight up on the knuckle with a little klunck noise. seems to be no play sideways. Is this normal?

Yes, normal, for the JK. Lots of people are seeing prematurely worn ball joints.

My lowers are at 0.025" vertical play. Not time to replace yet.

Radial (side-to-side) movement in the upper ball joint should not exceed 0.060" (1.5mm).

Axial (up and down) movement in the lower ball joint should not exceed 0.050" (1.25mm).
