Bad things can happen with a winch that is direct wired to the battery.....
I have the warn isolator kit. Works great and safe. I had a friends cable cover get cut up be the belt. Good thing it was the ground wire.
On top of that. I read a news story some time ago about a jeep that started on fire after a minor front end cash. The bumper cut the positive cable.
It's the big relay on the left.
