Axle winching with a JK?

Axle winching with a JK?
So I have a 2 door and find that on steep climbs and descents, my springs unload quite a bit and I have to say a few prayers to the jeep gods to keep me from going end over! I've seen buggies running their winch line to the axle to load the suspension and bring the cog back into place so to speak.
Anyone doing this with their JK?

Your tie rod and drag link are going to be in the way. The location of your winch on your bumper is a good 2 feet out in front of your axle. Buggies and jeeps that use the front winch for a suck down have there front axle stretched out and/or their front bumper or frame cut back.

Not many people here are built 'extreme' enough to need a suck down winch and those who are wish they had gone the buggy route after getting their jk just about that far.
Play around with mounting it between the radiator and motor to see what you can come up with. If dominion can put an air compressor there then I don't see why you couldn't do a truss with a hook and run a winch up there.

To the OP, I feel your pain. I've had similar scary situations in my 2 door. Another option that was presented to me was a single, center limiting strap. I didn't try it, but thought I'd throw it in as a suggestion.

Running a new winch or using existing? Steel or synthetic? I will be but as mentioned im stretched and frame cut back. Youd have to get creative but id bet money you could do new or existing winch. Gotta love the very small wheelbase lol
