hd is compared to the previous dana 44's the d44 in the jk's is redesigned. dana even wanted to call it a d45. the rubi's have better axle shafts with the 32 splines. even if you have a mopar e-locker in an hd d44 it is not the same thing as the d44 axle assembly in the rubi's.

I know that Superior has confirmed the 30 spline Dana 44 front in the Rubi, the 30 spline Dana 44 in the X and Sahara, and 32 spline rear in the Rubi, but has anyone confirmed the spline count on the X with the rear locker option? I would speculate that the rear is the same as the Mopar Performance Rubicon rear, which would be the 32 spline axle. Someone with an X and the rear locker option needs to tear it open so we can get the info. My money is that it's a 32 spline.

I understood it the same way, X & Sahara Dana 44 = 30 spline up to the Limited-Slip and then they got the Rubicon 44 (32 spline) if you bought the optional selectable locker.

This IS what the Wrangler engineers said.

should have done some more research rather than going by what i was told. you are correct the d44's with the lockers all have 32 splines.

"The rear locker axle has 32 splines. The open and Trac-Lok axles have 30 splines.

The model 30 front axle will have 27 splines, while the Rubicon front axle will have 30 splines" jeep engineers

that is good to hear, wish i would have found one on a lot with a locker. only found one with a lsd within 350 miles with what i wanted. needless to say future mods include arb lockers with 35 splines in the rear and a d44 rubi axle in the front.

Exclamation

If anyone has an '07 with low miles, 4.10's and Limited-Slip (within 250 miles of Norfolk, VA), I may have a great deal for you if you want new Rubicon axles. PM me if interested.
