Default Axle and Suspension Swap Advice

I am being given first dibs at buying my buddy's Dana 44 front and rear axles with Rubicon lockers and 4:10 gears out of a 2011 JKUR with 13,000 miles on them, a Rock Krawler X Factor 2.5 with control arms. The front axle is trussed, gussetted and has LCA skids. It is coming off of his 2dr JK and possibly going onto my JKUS. He is offering it to me all for 5,000. Should I be concerned with anything? I have access to a professional shop to do the work but my main concerns are the fit, ride and preformance. I will just wire the lockers into my Spod. There isnt a trust issue, im just wanting everyones opinion on price and concerns. Thanks!

For that kind of money you can buy a locked pr44 and slide it in. I'm cautious of the rubi lockers because if they fail a replacement is 2k with no labor.

Thanks for the input! Wouldnt PR44's cost alomost 5k by themselves? And are the Rubi lockers really that bad? My buddy has had no issues with his at all and wheels multiple times a year.

They should be a bolt in solution. Rubi lockers are fine and yes a built 44 front will run you $5k+ depending on set up. price seems a bit high to me but if you are good with it...

Will you need to eventually rehear those axles? If yes add about 1500 to that 5000. If that's the case get a front 60 or pr44 and regear just the rear stocker

The rubi lockers work fine. I have heard multiple people complain about sticking. Mine havent given me any trouble. Here's my take. You already have a d44 in the rear. You could put a locker in it for $1500. There is really no difference between the factory rubi 44 and 30 in terms of axle tube strength and durability. You can buy the parts and strengthen your existing axle for $500 (assuming you weld). Toss in a locker for another $1500 and you are sitting at $3500.

I'm not advocating for spending a bunch of money on a d30.

If you can get your buddy to knock $1000 off it is a more palatable deal in my opinion.

The problem you have is the axles you'll be removing are a dime a dozen and you'll be lucky to get $1000 selling them.

Just my opinion. I'd push for a price reduction. When I spend 5g's I really want to make it count.

I like this solution also.

Sounds like a good deal. I would want to get an alignment readout just to make sure the C's arent bent and the housing isnt warped.

You think 5 thousand is high for built front and rear axles and a flex arm lift kit? Maybe I am looking in the wrong places but that priced out to almost 8 thousand for everything.
