Axle sleeves
#22
I had my front 44 beefed up with the synergy sleeve and gussets as well as some new alloy balljoints. After the fact i wished i would have bought some seals and put them in when the front axle was pulled out from under my rig. Do you have to remove the brake roters and everything to install the seals?

I would not add outer axle seals to a front axle. It will prevent you from noticing an inner axle seal leak, which could drain your dif enough to eat up pinion or carrier bearings.
If my shit is leaking I wanna know ASAP.

I wasnt even aware the axle housing had inner seals. where are they on each side of the differentials?

Rear axle seals are at the outer axle bearing by the flange. Fluid runs in both the tubes and the housing. This is why the rear hold more fluid per the service manual.

Front axle seals are next to the carrier bearings. All fluid is contained in the differential housing. The tubes are dry.
