Default auto tranny not shifting correctly after battery disconnect

i disconnected the battery to service it, clean posts, etc... now the auto tranny is running over 3,000 rpm at 40mph with no shifting. only time rpm drops is if i take foot off the pedal.

im running 5.13 gears, 37's, and hypertech programmer.

did i just lose the programing from my hypertech for the shift points, gears, tires, etc...???

i am assuming thats what it is as everything was fine until battery disconnect.

i guess i will start reprogramming and go from there but will welcome any tips or advice.

thanks for the reply.

yes it was the programming, so todays lesson in jeep 101 is: apparently if you have flashed with hypertech, disconnect the battery, reconnect battery, you will lose the programed features.

just for the heck of it, i downloaded the update from hypertech website.

1. returned jeep to stock
2. downloaded update
3. flashed for gears, tires, etc..

now back to running normal

man i was freaking out when the tranny wouldnt shift!!

lesson learned and damn glad i never sold my hypertech, so those of you who flash your jeep then want to sell your programmer to recoup some money, you better think twice.

The programmer has to set the Jeep back to stock to be useful to someone else, correct?
Hopefully the seller would see that his Jeep runs like crap again, and not sell the programmer.

The only thing that keeps me from trying one is not knowing if it leaves tracks the dealer can see (after going back to stock) if they happen to look for it.

as far as i know yes, has to be set to stock to use on another jeep or vehicle. once you flash a jeep, the hypertech has those new settings stored. i could not even download the update from hypertech website without flashing back to stock. i mentioned this because i have seen many used programmers for sale. maybe those people ended up not using them or didnt get what they wanted from it, who knows. as far as the tracks go, hmmmm im not sure on that, but the only reason i have reflashed was for the 37's and 5.13 gears. so if i go to a dealership im sure they are already checking things out since im lifted 4.5"

Default Update

ok now i am baffled.

after disconnecting old battery and putting in new battery, i had no problems with programming. the programming stayed after the new battery install.

i am wondering if
the old battery was somehow screwed up, i did have to replace it after it going dead
or maybe the updated programming from hypertech somehow fixed some underlying issue. maybe hypertech will chime in. this is more just curiosity at this point since everything is running good now.
